Summary: 

Lisa Blunt Rochester for Senate is seeking an experienced Deputy Digital Director. Lisa Blunt Rochester is seen as a rising star in the Democratic party and is Co-Chair of the Biden-Harris Campaign. She has served four terms as Delaware’s At-Large Congresswoman. If elected, Blunt Rochester would be the state’s first female and first Black U.S. Senator. 

As the Deputy Digital Director, you will be responsible for managing the organic social media platforms and executing the team’s social media plan for the campaign. This position is based in Wilmington and reports directly to the Digital Director. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Build and manage the campaign’s social media calendar in tandem with the Digital Director and Communications team using various campaign resources.
    • First draft of all social media posts for Twitter and Facebook/Instagram.
    • Assist in Rapid Response efforts around the clock – including responding to breaking news and other current events that impact our campaign. 
  • Work with Digital Director to brainstorm, script, record, edit, and produce high quality video content across social media platforms. 
  • Pitch content ideas in daily and weekly meetings. 
  • Attend campaign events, including on weekends and after-hours, to gather videos and photo content. 
  • Produce high-quality graphics, GIFs, and other media assets for the campaign using Canva and Adobe Products. 
  • Stay up-to-date on current social media trends. Research and draft social media competitive updates for the campaign on a weekly basis. 
  • Coordinate with other departments to develop volunteer recruitment content, social media from the road, and more. 
  • Track metrics on all platforms and deliver that information via daily/weekly reports.

Qualifications: 

  • 2-3 years of experience on a campaign, committee, or advocacy organization; or relevant social media management experience 
  • Strong writing skills, with experience drafting content for a principal or a brand
  • Experience using video-driven platforms
  • Experience editing photos and graphics using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines 
  • A strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti-racism 
  • Ability to maintain attention-to-detail and effectively manage multiple projects, even when asked to turn around content quickly in response to timely news events

Compensation: $5-7k/month, subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, $50/month cell phone allowance
