Summary: 

Lisa Blunt Rochester for Senate is seeking enthusiastic, politically minded, future leaders for our campaign at our state headquarters located in Wilmington, DE. Lisa Blunt Rochester is seen as a rising star in the Democratic party and Co-Chair of the Biden-Harris Campaign. She has served four terms as Delaware’s At-Large Congresswoman. If elected, Blunt Rochester would be the state’s first female and first Black U.S. Senator. 

Working with Team LBR is a dynamic opportunity for hardworking, passionate Delawareans to gain real life, hands-on experience in local Democratic politics, strengthen their understanding of the political process, and prepare them for future political opportunities. 

Opportunities are available within various departments. Each department offers you a unique learning experience. As an intern or part-time staffer, you will have the chance to participate in the day-to-day operations of the campaign, which ranges from grassroots organizing, planning and holding events, researching initiatives, working with candidates, communicating with the public, and networking with leadership and staff, in addition to administrative work. 

The campaign is seeking candidates for all 4 tracks available Organizing, Digital, Communications or Fundraising. Below are some of the responsibilities you will hold, which will be narrowed based on their placement: 

  • Interact with party activists, statewide committees, and other related organizations – answering questions and taking action to meet their needs, as directed. 
  • Maintain up-to-date rosters and member databases. 
  • Help manage relationships with caucus leaders, committee leaders, and county chairs.
  • Assist with fundraising event coordination, planning, and day-of-event operations.
  • Conduct research on potential donors. 
  • Assist with fundraising database management. 
  • Work in excel and word to create documents for campaign use; create flyers.
  • Work with staff to carry out administrative duties, including data entry, mass mailings, filings, and other office related tasks. 
  • Perform other duties, based on intern interests and campaign needs. 
  • Aid voter outreach event planning and execution. 
  • Develop tools to help inform strategic decisions on resource allocation 
  • Work with the Organizing Director to assist with constituency and voter outreach efforts.

Compensation: $15 per hour (max of 15 hours per week) and/or course credit
